Privacy Policy

Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Origin ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Origin mobile application and website at https://liveorigin.app.

This policy is based on our internal data inventory and is provided for transparency. Final legal review is required before launch.

Information We Collect

Account and profile: Name, username, age (13+), height, optional weight, gender, fitness goals, experience level, optional injuries, and avatar.

Workout data: Exercises, sets, reps, weight, and workout history.

Machine memory: Last weight and reps per equipment at your gym for continuity.

Camera / AI: Camera images are sent to Google Gemini for equipment identification. Origin does not store your photos. With opt-in consent, image fingerprints may be stored to improve recognition.

Location: Live GPS is used ephemerally for gym arrival detection and is not persisted. Saved gym name and coordinates are stored for primary gym matching.

Social: Friendships, activity events, push tokens (opt-in), and gym presence when sharing is enabled.

How We Use Information

  • Provide and personalize workout and coaching features
  • Enable social features you opt into
  • Send notifications you have consented to receive
  • Improve equipment identification with opt-in recognition feedback
  • Maintain security and prevent abuse

Third-Party Processors

  • Google Gemini: Equipment identification and AI coaching (transient image processing)
  • Google Places / OpenStreetMap: Gym search from coordinates
  • Expo Notifications: Push notification delivery
  • Supabase: Authentication, database, and cloud functions

Data Retention

Profile, workout, and social data are retained until you delete your account or specific data. AI scan cache is stored locally for 7 days. Image fingerprints are retained until consent is revoked or your account is deleted.

Your Controls

  • Export your data from Settings → Your Data
  • Delete workout history or your entire account
  • Manage privacy toggles and consent in Settings → Privacy
  • Disable social, location, camera/AI, and notification features independently

Children

Origin requires users to be at least 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
